ProWein 2020 has been postponed

Coronavirus, the ProWein stops. Düsseldorf trade fair postponed to 2021

Here is what is learned from the official press release published on February 29, 2020.

Messe Düsseldorf postpones ProWein 2020. In close coordination with all partners involved, the company will promptly present an alternative date to ensure that planning can proceed reliably. The postponement also concerns the "ProWein goes to town" initiative.

In doing so, the recommendation of the German government's crisis management team is urged, which calls for consideration of the recommendations of the Robert Koch Institute when assessing risk for major events. Based on this recommendation and the recent significant increase in the number of infected people, also in Europe, Messe Düsseldorf has reviewed the situation. Added to this is the uncertainty of numerous ProWein exhibitors and visitors and the complicated travel situation, especially for international customers.

Werner M. Dornscheidt, CEO of Messe Düsseldorf added: “Our customers, partners and employees trust us. Not only when it comes to the professional and successful management of major international events in Düsseldorf. They can also have this confidence in us when we make decisions about critical situations in the interest of their safety. "

"This decision has not been easy for all concerned," said Thomas Geisel, mayor of the city of Düsseldorf and chairman of the supervisory board of Messe Düsseldorf, "but postponement is needed at the moment."
