The wonder of wine: a preview of new cellar, where vineyard, work and wine tourism become one.
Last Monday May 4, work for the completion of Hic et Nunc’s new cellar has officially restarted and we hope for it to finish by the beginning of summer.
This winery has been a dream that has occupied us from the very beginning of this adventure when, after completing the rationalization and replanting of the vineyards, in 2018 we started a visionary project – in the literal sense of the word, because the “view” is the central element of our production site.
The new cellar will be an open and welcoming space, with a contemporary and “transparent” style thanks to the use of glass and steel. A place designed for visitors to directly experience wine and its territory, drenching themselves in the beauty, history and the productive dimension of Hic et Nunc.
Obtained from a “carving” in the hill and, mostly, located underground, the new cellar has an extremely limited impact on the landscape located in a territory recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The space, spreading on three floors, is like a journey towards the “secret of wine”.
Beneath the terrace with a panoramic overview and larch flooring, designed for business events and outdoor tastings, is the first floor located underground, where huge windows aligned with the vineyards fill the visitors with the sight of Fons Salera valley, located between Vignale Monferrato and Casorzo: a mosaic of vineyards, cultivated fields and woods, once famous for its thermal waters. The windows also run along the wall inside, offering a glimpse to the winemaking area and the barrel room, giving a feel of that “productive transparency” at the foundation of our philosophy. Between the vineyards and the barrel room we have chosen to place the tasting room and the wine shop, concrete and symbolic places, nestled between the alpha and the omega of the production process: the origin of wine and its refinement, which usually takes place in a closed space, almost hidden and inaccessible.
The basement, operational since 2019, is dedicated to cellar operations. It houses more than 30 steel tanks and the spectacular barrel room, the innermost core of the structure, covered with wooden planks from the Grand Hotel at San Pellegrino Terme, located in the province of Bergamo.
Visionary, contemporary, experiential. We hope that Hic et Nunc’s cellar may become a point of reference for the entire territory: a place where vineyard, history and work enrich one another and, through their mysterious and inseparable bond, give rise to the wonder of wine.
